  Service Guidelines

  • Public Transit is a curb-to-curb service open to passengers of all ages. Young children should be accompanied by an adult.
  • Make reservations as early as possible by calling the numbers listed. (24 Hour notice is requested) Ask about our money saving ticket packages.
  • Please be ready 15 minutes before and after the scheduled pick up time and in sight of the bus driver. MLPT bus drivers make every effort to be on time. The bus will wait three minutes for riders to appear. At no time shall a driver go in search of the scheduled rider.
  • All buses are equipped with lifts and drivers are trained to assist passengers with disabilities. Passengers requiring assistance to get into or out of buildings should have an attendant. Attendants ride free of charge. The combined weight of rider and wheelchair may not exceed ADA regulations.
  • Drivers are not permitted to enter any rider’s home or assist a passenger beyond the outside entrance of any building. Please do not ask that they do.
  • Drivers will assist riders with up to three packages, weighing not more than 25 pounds. Please make alternative plans for delivery of excess packages.
  • In case of severe weather, MLPT will follow the lead of local schools in canceling or delaying service. Please check with our dispatcher for details. Driveways, sidewalks and ramps must be free of snow and ice.
  • MLPT reserves the right to refuse service to anyone whom the driver feels may endanger the safety or comfort of other passengers.
  • MLPT does have a “No-Show” policy that could mean temporary loss of riding privileges for repeatedly requesting rides and not going.
  • MLPT observes the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.
  • All passengers are required to use seat belts.
